Prerequisites

Previous medical background and letter from employer indicating your job title, responsibilities and tenure on the job. This includes but is not limited to the following:

Phlebotomist with more than 1 year of experience

LPN
EMT


Course Content

This is a robust 10 module, hands-on Phlebotomy workshop. All aspects of basic phlebotomy will be covered including:

Routine venipuncture technique
Capillary collections
Pediatric draws
Winged infusion collections
Special procedures
Legal aspects of Phlebotomy
Infection Control
Quality Assurance
Case Studies


There will also be lectures and demonstrations, as well as practice manikins for phlebotomy. A portion of the workshop will also contain live draws. The national certification exam is administered the following day.

 

Workshop Fee

The total fee is $400, which includes all workshop books, supplies, externship and fee for national certification exam. The national certification exam is administered at the end of the workshop.
